RealStorm
Global Illumination
Benchmark 2006
This benchmark is not meant to run with 30fps on your machine, because it features realtime global illumination. The RealStorm Engine does not use your grafic acceleration card, anything you see is calculated by your CPU.

What you see in the benchmark has nothing to do with polygons. The scenes are build with mathematical primitives based on 3D-functions; like spheres, cylinders, planes combined with realistic light models (per pixel lighting) and diffuse light reflection (Global Illumination).

It would be nice if you could send us your result file (\Data\Database.rdb) via Email to contact@realstorm.de - Thank you!

The Scene in the benchmark are:

Global Illumination Compare

This scene is to show you the difference between volume lights and global illumination. You will see one scene on the left with global illumination and the same scene mirrored to the right without global illumination.

House Scene

The house scene is implemented with 3 different settings, which are

- standard raytracing mode

- volume lights mode (soft shadows)

- global immunination (diffuse light reflection)
White Room

This scene with its white surfaces makes it easy to see the effects of global illumination. Compare for yourself…
